Richard (Taff) Watts
Richard Watts, also known as Taff Watts, served in the British Army for 23 years in the Royal Corps of Signals. His career highlights include operational deployments to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland, and Afghanistan.
In 2016, Taff retired early and joined L3 (later L3Harris) as the Director of Strategic Development in Europe. In this role, he collaborated with various partners to develop networked ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) solutions for European defense forces.
In 2022, Taff took on the role of Director of Business Development and Commercial at SiXworks Limited. SiXworks specialises in deliver Digital Experimentation for Ministry of Defence (MOD) customers and advocates for Zero Trust and Data-Centric architectures. In 2024, SiXworks became part of the IBM family, which has enabled greater opportunities for delivering digital innovation at pace.
Taff holds a BSc in Physics, an MSc in the Design of Information Systems, and an MA in Defence Studies.
