
Mr Patrick Badar
In January 2024 Patrick Badar was appointed the Deputy U.S. Army Futures Command Forward Element (Atlantic) located in London, United Kingdom. In this capacity he assists the team in leveraging the S&T ecosystem of U.S. allies and partners in the EUCOM, AFRICOM and CENTCOM regions. This is done through regular engagements with academia, industry and partner governments to scout technologies and research relevant to known technology gaps or Army priority. Previously, he served as the Director of the University Technology Development Directorate (UTDD) in support of the Headquarters, Army Futures Command. The UTDD plans and executes programs which leverage advanced research activities with partner universities to accelerate the maturation of technology in support to Army transformation priorities.
Mr. Badar is a retired Aviator and Acquisition Officer who served over 28 years in the U.S. Army. In addition to his operational aviation experience, Mr. Badar completed a number of acquisition assignments performing a wide range of duties. His assignments include Project Officer & Assistant Program Manager in various program offices in Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier and in PEO Missiles and Space. Mr. Badar also performed a variety of administrative contracting and policy support in the the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Saudi Arabia and Army Contracting Command, ultimately culminating as the Brigade Commander of the 413th Contracting Support Brigade. To round out his acquisition experience, Mr. Badar also served in key Science and Technology assignments in the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, U.S. Strategic Command and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command.
Mr. Badar has earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering.
