The Exsel Group is a leading independent defence technology solutions company – providing engineering solutions, technology systems and support services to Defence and Industry where reliability, safety and protection are paramount. ​ Originating in 1947 at Surbiton, and thereafter Chessington, Surrey, trading under the name Drawing and Tracing Limited with a staff of six. In 1959, a Branch Office was opened at Malvern, Worcestershire. The acquisition of Syen Ltd in 2005 brought in a centre of excellence for software, electronic and systems engineering. Delivery of solutions in this sphere continues today from the Exsel Group site at Welshpool, Powys. The integration of GEL Engineering Limited in 2008 introduced us to armoured protection and training & simulation markets. From this nucleus the business has grown, through demand for our products and services, to the Exsel Group of today which operates across three UK sites serving a global list of clients across government, defence & commercial interests.
